When is the student/parent informational meeting? Thursday, November 19th6:00 PM - 7:00 PMStevenson High School West Auditorium (Room 2206)Mandatory for both students and parents
What is "service learning"? Service-Learning combines service experiences with learning objectives with the goal of improving the lives of both the recipient and the provider of the service. This is accomplished by combining service tasks with structured opportunities that encourage self-reflection, self-discovery, personal growth, and the acquisition of values, skills, and knowledge. Through Service-Learning students develop the skills needed for productive citizenship. Students will register and pay through SHS summer school site and the trip will be treated as a summer school course. Concurrent registration and payments to the trip service providers will also be required. Upon completion of curricular requirements, each student will receive one semester P/F credit with a "service learning" designation on the Stevenson transcript and an "elective" classifcation.
